Outdoor Solar Lanterns

Light up your garden, terrace or balcony without a single cable. Our outdoor solar lanterns charge in daylight and switch on automatically at dusk, casting a warm, welcoming glow over the spaces where you relax and entertain. Every lantern in this collection is designed by Vincent Sheppard, the Belgian outdoor furniture brand known for natural materials and timeless, handcrafted design.

Designer solar lanterns made to live outdoors

These are not the throwaway solar garden lights you find in a hardware aisle. Each piece pairs a powder-coated aluminium frame with a tactile outer shell, so it looks as good switched off by day as it does glowing at night:

  • Tika – a woven HDPE wicker lantern in black or camel, in two sizes, with a 500-lumen LED.
  • Maya – repurposed natural teak slats wrapped around the solar LED module, rated IP65.
  • Mora – a sculptural cage of tightly wound polypropylene rope in three sizes, rated IP67 and rechargeable by sun or mains.

All three use a 2700K warm-white LED with a built-in light sensor, giving a soft, candle-like ambience rather than a harsh glare.

How do solar lanterns work?

A small solar panel in the LED module converts daylight into energy stored in a rechargeable battery. When the light sensor detects nightfall, the lantern turns itself on – no wiring, no switches, no electrician.

Do solar lanterns need direct sunlight?

Direct sun charges them fastest, so place your lantern where the module sees open sky for most of the day. They still charge on overcast days, just more slowly. In winter or shady spots, the Mora can also be topped up from the mains.

Are outdoor solar lanterns waterproof?

The Maya (IP65) and Mora (IP67) are built to withstand rain and splashing, making them ideal year-round outdoor lanterns for patios, poolsides and garden paths.
